The bomber jacket was born in 1917 with the sole function of protecting combat pilots from the cold. As they were manufactured for the military, they had to provide flexibility so that they could move easily.

Over time it evolved to give life to the style that is known today. All this happened at the time of the 1950s when other military forces were already using the garment and better comfort was demanded. Alpha Industries who was the main producer saw it as an opportunity and mass-produced them.
